What to know about the the divorce process
A divorce process can be simplified (which is discussed on the Simplified Dissolution page) or it can be contested.
A Contested Divorce:
- Can be lengthy: this process could take many months and even over a year to complete.
- Can be costly: the longer the process takes to complete the more likely the process will be more costly.
- Is necessary when both spouses can not come to an agreement on marital issues.
